Florence “Flo” Verginio departed this earth peacefully with family by her side on Friday, September 5, 2014, at her home in Lincolnton, GA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Verginio in 1981.
She is survived by her children: Mary Jane (Jim) Davis of Little Elm, TX, Joseph J. (Lee) Verginio of Baldwinsville, Frank (Robin) Verginio of Lincolnton, GA and Greg D. (MeiXia) Verginio whose family resides in China, 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also, her siblings: Thomas Butler, Lottie (John) Mero and James Butler and seven nieces and nephews.
Flo graduated from Warners High School and Business School before commencing a career as an administrative assistant with Smith Corona and Crucible Steel. She and her husband, Joe, were married in1954. She became a full time Mother and household manager with the birth of her first child, Mary Jane and resumed her career working full time after her youngest child, Greg, entered school. She hosted multiple foster children in the family including Sharon (Scott) Trask, of Pennellville, NY. Flo retired from the Salvation Army Empire Headquarters Office, East Syracuse in August of 2004 after 24 years of service as an executive secretary. She was a life time resident of Baldwinsville, NY before moving to Salt Lake City, UT in April 2007 and finally in Lincolnton, GA in September 2007 to be with her son, Frank and his family.
Flo had a big and generous heart with much love to share with her family and friends. She greatly enjoyed her family and activities with her husband and their friends including camping, dancing, gardening and the practice of her Christian faith.

A funeral service will be held at Kruger Funeral Home in Mattydale, on Thursday at 1:00 pm followed by a burial service at Assumption Cemetery, Syracuse.
