Irene ?Liz? E. Verzole, 94, of David Dr. North Syracuse, where she lived with her daughter and son-in-law Irene ?Sissy? and Rick Gibson, died peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday at James Square Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Quebec and she resided at 202 Hanover Ave. in Liverpool for 40 years before moving to North Syracuse in 1991. She retired in 1975 from Carrolls Restaurant on Marshall St. Prior to that she worked for Sealtest Ice Cream as a line worker for 21 years. Liz was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a member of the Woman of Moose Lodge 644 in Baldwinsville. She was predeceased by her husband Louis Verzole in 1984, a son Earl Nelson Davison in December 1991 and a daughter Joan Pooler in August 2001.
Surviving are 2 daughters Carol O?Dell of Mattydale, Irene ?Sissy? Rick Gibson of North Syracuse, a son Edward Mary Whitford of Lakeland, a brother Moston ?Moe? Yank of Liverpool, 15 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 6 great great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be at 9:30 am Saturday at the Krueger Funeral Home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Friday at the funeral home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. Contributions may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church 140 Swansea Drive, Syracuse, NY 13206.
