Barbara L. Wandersee, 82, formerly of Mattydale, passed away to God's loving arms Thursday at Eastern Star Campus in Oriskany. Barbara grew up and resided in Mattydale for most of her life before moving to Oriskany in 2008. She was a graduate of Central High School.
Barbara retired in 1996 from the Foster Grandparents Program in Syracuse after 20 years. Prior to that, she was the secretary for the United Church if Christ Conference Center for many years. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Centerville Chapter #185 joining in 1968. During her membership, Barbara served as Matron and Grand Representative of Wisconsin in 1984. She enjoyed traveling, roller-skating, raising her two children, and was a fan of S.U. Basketball. Barbara was a lifelong member of Malden Road United Church of Christ where she served on the Council, the Women Fellowship and as Church Clerk. Her church family was a very important part of her life. Barbara will be forever remembered for her strong faith and love of family.
She was predeceased by her parents, Charles W. and Nina V. Stackpoole, her son, Bruce C. Wandersee, and a brother, Wayne Stackpoole.
Barbara is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dawn Laux and Robert A. Pendock of Mattydale; one brother: Charles "Bruce" (Diane) Stackpoole of Brewerton; a sister-in-law, Shirley Stackpoole of Oswego; her six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; six nieces and nephews and three cousins.

Friends may call on Monday from 3-6 pm at Krueger Funeral Home Inc., 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. An Order of the Eastern Star Vigil Service will begin at 6 pm when calling hours have concluded. Funeral Services are Tuesday, 10:00 am, at the funeral home with burial following in Plainville Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
