Mary Norma Watson, 92, longtime resident of North Syracuse, passed away Wednesday, June 2nd in the comfort of her home and family. Born in Pennsylvania, Mary was the last surviving child born to the late Wincenty and Teresa Pelc. She resided in Jamestown and then Ashville for 14 years before moving to North Syracuse in 1968.
Mary was a 1993 graduate of Syracuse University earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at age 65. She retired after 25 years at Syracuse University. She was awarded “Woman of the Year” by the United Methodist Women. Mary was past President of the Town of Clay Seniors and a member of the Knit Wits. She enjoyed camping across the country and was happiest when spending time with her family. Mary was active in many functions involving the church as well as her children’s activities. She was a member of the Cicero United Methodist Church and formerly a member of Andrews Memorial Church in North Syracuse.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Ed Watson in 2001.
Mary is survived by her three children: Ed (Sally) Watson, Jr. of Wolcott, Cynthia (Del) Baxter of Cicero, and Lori (Bud Moore) LaShombe of Syracuse; nine grandchildren: Erin (Bill) Cusworth, Jessica Watson, Kiel (Christine) Watson, Steve (Lisa) Stevenson, Jennifer (Erica) Baxter, Nicole (Josh) Felix, Mary (Matt O'Keefe) LaShombe, Ken (Derek Bishop) Moore, and Rob (Mindy) Moore; and her great grandchildren: Caden, Logan, Ava, Makayla, Bryce, Xavier, Jaslene, Maxwell, Edwin, Cameron, and Connor.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd, Mattydale. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, 11:00 AM, at the funeral home, followed by burial in Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay.
