Sarah C. Weaver, 81, of Bevell Lane in North Syracuse, died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital. Sarah grew up in Pompey and resided in North Syracuse for the past 50 years. She also maintained a residence in Fishers Landing for the past 42 years and was the daughter of the late Donald E. and Mary Henneberry Conan.
Sarah was a 1946 graduate and valedictorian of Pompey Academy. She received an Associates Degree from CCBI. Sarah retired in 1957 after 12 years as the Regional Director's Secretary for Bill Robinson and Earl Tolsen at the NYS Department of Public Works and was one of the last to leave the Weigh Lock Building. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at the VFW Post #3146 in Mattydale, the American Legion Post # 821 in Clayton NY, a member of the home bureau and an adult member of the Girl Scouts. Sarah was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale and St. Mary's Church in Clayton.
Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Daniel F. Weaver; three children: Daniel F. Weaver, Jr. of North Syracuse, Katherine Weaver-Van Marter of Mattydale, and Martha John Terranova of North Syracuse; her granddaughter, Alexandria Josh Reynolds of Buffalo; and her four siblings: Elizabeth Bullion of Dewitt, Donald F. Conan of Syracuse, Mary Helen Palladino of Pompey, and Edward Conan of Aiken, SC.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Krueger Funeral Home Inc., 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. A Prayer service will begin at 9:30 am Tuesday at the funeral home with a 10 am Mass of Christian burial at St. Margaret's Church. Burial will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Pompey.
