Emma M. Gage Wesley, 82, of Medford Road in Mattydale, died Thursday at St. James Health Center. Emma was born in Argyle, NY, raised in Fort Ann, NY, and resided in Mattydale for over 45 years. She was the daughter of the late Hollis and Bertha Gage.
Emma was a candle maker at Muench-Kreuzer Candle Co. for 26 years before retiring. She was a life member of the VFW Post 3146 and a member of the American Legion Post 1832 Ladies Auxiliaries both in Mattydale.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph J. Wesley in 1979 and her son, Edward J. Wesley in 2007.
Emma is survived by her daughter: Patricia A. Wesley Reginald Potter of West Monroe; her son: William J. Wesley of Mattydale; her five grandchildren, Casey, Brian, Mark, Kathleen & Theresa; and two special friends, Jennifer Kingsbury Gonzalez and Sister Mary Christopher.
Friends and family may call on Sunday from 1-4pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, and Mattydale. Services are Monday, 10am at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the fourth floor nursing staff at James Square for the loving care given to Emma.
