Clare Wilson, 63, formerly of Mattydale, passed away Sunday, August 24th at home. He was one of two children born to Dorris and the late Clarence Wilson.
A life long resident of the Syracuse area, Clare was employed by several automotive dealerships and was a successful restaurant owner. He retired at the age of 62. He enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, going to the casino and most of all, his dog. He had a saying "a dog is always a pal to you, while people will sometimes let you down."
Clare is survived by his son: Woodrow "Woody" Fenton of North Syracuse; his daughter: Tammy Wilson of SC; his mother: Dorris Lavallee of Baldwinsville; sister: Eunice Tassone; his three nephews: James Tassone, Christopher Zellar and Nicholas Zellar; and several cousins.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale. Prayer will be held at the funeral home, Friday at 9:30am followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Margaret's Church at 10am. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery, Skaneateles.
