Gloria Tassinari Winter passed away peacefully in hospice care on January 12
in Palm Desert, CA, ensconced in the embrace of her family. A native of Syracuse, Gloria was predeceased by dedicated parents, Lorita 'Rita' and Renato Tassinari of Dewitt.
Gloria is survived by her beloved husband, Kevin Winter, and by three devoted elder sisters: Maria Pia Tassinari Mason (Mark); Elena Tassinari Jordan (Charlie); and, Rosanne Tassinari Thompson (Mike). Gloria leaves behind cherished nephews, one niece, several grand-nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Born December 1, 1957, Gloria was a communicant of Our Lady of Pompei and
Holy Cross Parishes. She attended Our Lady of Pompei School before transferring to
Jamesville-Dewitt, where she graduated high school in 1975. At J-D she was a member
of a service based Delta-Kappa sorority, and a cheerleader for the Red Rams. In 1977,
she was graduated from Onondaga Community College where she subsequently earned
her Associate's Degree.
Proud of hailing from America's snowiest city, Gloria and Kevin ultimately made sunny
California their home. Gloria served professionally first at United Parcel Service (UPS)
in San Francisco, and thereafter as an integral member of the Hoolihan/Gorin Dental
Group in Palm Desert, CA for over 20 years.
Gloria enjoyed traveling, particularly to Italy. She was an avid country line dancer. Gloria was an ardent animal lover, providing refuge to countless creatures throughout her years.
A Mass of the Rite Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM on Wednesday, January 30
at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, preceded by recital of the Rosary at 10:00 AM and
Visitation at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Diocesan Cemetery in Dewitt.
