Bernard K. Worth, 89, of North Syracuse, died Monday, June 20, 2016 at his home. Bernard was born in Syracuse to the late Loren and Lillian (Kennedy) Worth. He was a 1945 graduate of North Syracuse High School lettering in Baseball and resided in Parish for 25 years before settling in North Syracuse.
Bernard was an Army veteran who earned a World War II Victory Medal during his service. He retired in 1985 after 39 years as a Repairman for New York Telephone in Syracuse. Bernard was the past President of both the Black River and Sandy Creek Beagle Clubs. He spent many hours training his dogs and hunting with them. His Beagle "Blue" was an International Field Champ. Bernard was a life member of the VFW and the NRA. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and sportsman for most of his life. He always enjoyed his family and friends very much.
Bernard was predeceased by his brother, James Worth.
He is survived by his longtime companion, Marilyn Gould; five children: Nancy (Steve) Rose of Oswego, Joyce (Danny) Klochaney of MI, John (Betty) Worth of FL, Bernadette Thurston and Joseph (Maureen) Worth, all of Clay; 11 grandchildren: Anna, David, Peter, Danette, Trisha, Keith, Sommer, Dallas, Ryan, Steven, and Donovan; and by his 11 great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Friday from 4-7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin Saturday, 9:00 am, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 3494 Route 31, Baldwinsville, NY. Burial will be in Veteran's Memorial Cemetery, Syracuse.
