Juliette "Judy" M. Young, 88, of Boulevard Street in Mattydale, died Sunday surrounded by her family. Judy was a native of St. Vincent in Alberta Canada before living on the North Side of Syracuse for 27 years. She had resided in Mattydale since 1981 and was one of nine children born to the late Cleophas and Ida Brunet.
Judy was employed by McMillen Book Company as a book binder for 10 years prior to retiring in 1983. Before that, she worked as a waitress for many years in the Syracuse area and was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church.
Judy was predeceased by her husband of 45 years, Lawrence Young in 1984 and her daughter, Lorraine Valentino in 2006.
Surviving are her son: Paul Teresa Young of Middleville, MI; her two daughters: Patricia Lewis Herzog and Colleen Harvey, both of Mattydale; a son-in-law Louis Valentino; a brother: Raymond Brunet of Eastwood; her two sisters: Cecile Dumas and Noela Putman, both of Syracuse; nine grandchildren: Nancy, Mark, Bob, Jamie, Gregory, Haley, Michael, Michelle, Jason; and her 12 great grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4-7pm on Tuesday at the Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale. Services will be at a time to be announced on Wednesday at the funeral home followed by burial in Assumption Cemetery.
