Irene H. Magdon Ziebro, 85, of Parish, passed away peacefully Saturday at her home with her family by her side. Irene was a native of Dickson City, PA and was born to the late John Magdon and Agnes Szarek. She formerly resided in the Mattydale area for 48 years before moving to Parish 5 months ago.
Irene worked part time at Strike ?N Spare Bowling Center and at Max?s Restaurant. She then held the position of retail clerk at Chappell?s Department Store in Syracuse. Irene was a member of the Salina Civic Seniors and enjoyed gardening. She volunteered in a Pre-K classroom, attended senior swim and exercise classes, visited a local senior community, and was a communicant of St. Margaret?s Church.
Irene was predeceased by her husband George E. Ziebro in 1984, her twin children, Hedwig and Edward Ziebro in 1951, and her sibling, Joan Froio, Wanda Maksinski, and Joseph Magdon.
Surviving are her two children, Sandra David Kuznia, of Parish and George A.Ursula Ziebro , of Chittenango; and her four grandchildren, Jason, Matthew, Adam and Laura; her four sisters, Emelia King, of Mattydale, Marion Castellani, of Dickson City, PA, Helen Zawistowsky, of Wilmington, DE, and Elizabeth Kotowicz, of CA; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 3-7pm Wednesday at Krueger Funeral Home 2619 Brewerton Rd. Mattydale. Prayer will be Thursday at 8:45am at the funeral home followed by Mass at St. Margaret?s Church at 9:30am. Entombment will be in St. Mary?s Mausoleum, Dewitt.
