Evelyn R. Zoll (Wilde), 101, lifelong resident of Mattydale, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015. Born July 10, 1913 in Syracuse to the late Marshall and Georgianna (Kelly) Cole, Evelyn attended Vocational High School and Crouse Irving School of Nursing.
As a Registered Nurse, Evelyn worked for 10 years for an Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist, 4 years at Syracuse Memorial Hospital and 31 years for General Practitioner, Dr. William Schiffman, in Mattydale. Evelyn volunteered for several years at the Well Baby Clinic in Mattydale with Dr. Ralph Prowda and Dr. George Bladen. She was the President of the Mattydale Mothers' Club and many times assisted the Bessie B. Riordan School Nurse. Evelyn volunteered at the immunization clinics during the outbreak of Asian Flu and then volunteered for the first Flu clinic offered by the Onondaga Health Department for the community. She retired in August 1978 when Dr. Schiffman retired and his office closed. Volunteering for Evelyn then began on a more full-time basis at the Wagon Wheels Senior Center in the Nutrition area, serving on their steering committee and then becoming the President of the steering committee for 4 years. During that time, she also volunteered for the Onondaga Health Department doing hypertension screenings and immunization clinics. Evelyn was a member of the Onondaga Health Department Auxiliary Board and served on the Advisory Board of their Volunteer Center RSVP for over 20 years. She was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale where she served as a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister, often visiting people in Nursing Homes and the homebound. Evelyn also belonged to the Mattydale-Hinsdale Seniors Group. She received many honors for her volunteerism among which included a Community Service Award and an award from President Bush.
Evelyn was predeceased by her first husband, Albert Zoll, in 1976 and later, by her husband Marshall "Mark" Wilde in 2005 and by her son, Albert Zoll in 2014.
She is survived by her daughter, Diane Guadagno of Mattydale; several grandchildren including Mary Hathaway of Mattydale, Jack Zoll of Oneonta, and Jana (Tom) Owens of Liverpool; several great grandchildren including Amanda and Benjamin Hathaway; and three great great grandchildren: Alexis, Marc and Giana.

Friends may call on Friday from 4 -7 pm at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Road, Mattydale. Services will be held on Saturday, 11 am, at the funeral home followed by burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Dewitt.
